- 01Do I need audio experience before starting?
- No. You should be comfortable opening a project and moving around a timeline in an editing application. Each tool and technique is explained when it first appears, and the early modules are paced for people who have never cleaned dialogue before.
- 02What software do I need?
- Any audio or video editing application that lets you edit multiple tracks, apply basic processing and export files will do. The techniques are taught in terms of what you are listening for, so they carry across whichever tool you already use.
- 03Where do the recordings come from?
- Practice uses authorised recordings, meaning voices you have permission to edit, each with an approved script. You may bring your own material if you hold that permission, which many learners find makes the exercises more useful to their real work.
- 04How long does the course take?
- It depends on how much time you can give each week. The seven modules run in sequence, and most learners work through a module at a steady pace over a few sessions. There is no fixed finish date to race against.
- 05Will I get a certificate or accreditation?
- No. The course does not issue a certificate or claim accreditation. What you finish with is practical skill and a set of edited, balanced and exported pieces that you can judge by ear and show to a client.
- 06Can the course lead to paid audio work?
- It gives you the working skills to finish dialogue properly, which many producers use on their own projects. We cannot promise work or earnings, and we do not suggest the course replaces experience gained on real commissions.
- 07What if I would rather hand the editing over?
- The same team also offers paid editing and review services for producers who prefer not to do the work themselves. The prices page lists what each includes, and you can ask about it through the contact page.
- 08How do I get help when I am stuck?
- Questions go to the instructors through the contact page, and the module that fits your problem is usually the place to start. Rhys covers cleanup and editing, Catrin mixing and delivery, and Daniel sync and review.
